My education and work experience has informed my use of a multi-dimensional treatment path that promotes emotional, mental as well as physical health to enhance a sense of wellbeing and quality of life. After having the honour working with different countries, I have developed an appreciation for working with diverse, multi-cultural communities. I am passionate about the creative process and look forward to working with clients to reach their therapeutic goals through artistic expression. Art therapy is known to lessen feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress in people of all ages. In one study, older adults who participated in arts activities experienced lower levels of loneliness, depression, and better morale. Participants found that the calming action of putting a paintbrush or pencil to paper helped them relax and focus on positive feelings.
